Atlantic Series Leg To Stayoutofmyaffair

Last year's Atlantic Aged Mares Pacing Series champion Stayoutofmyaffair earned her first win in the 2014 edition of the series at Exhibition Park Raceway on Saturday afternoon.

General Luckypercy, a previous winner in the series at Summerside Raceway this year, led the mares through fractions of :28.3, :58.3 and 1:29.3 with Jonah Moase trainees Andro Madi and favourite Dirt Track Momma challenging throughout. However, Stayoutofmyaffair converted off a pocket trip to prevail in the $5,350 division in 1:59.2 by half a length over the pacesetter. Ramblinglily finished one and three-quarters lengths behind in third.

Jason Hughes trains and drives the eight-year-old Astreos mare for owner Robi Hughes of Stratford, P.E.I. Stayoutofmyaffair earned a fourth-place finish in the Summerside leg and was a runner-up when the series shifted to Truro Raceway. Overall, this season she has won six of her 18 starts and $11,162 in purses.

J Rs Hurricane won the regular weekly feature, the $1,500 Winners Over Pace, in 1:58.3 with Mark Haig driving for trainer/owner Jean Charles Belliveau of Scoudouc, N.B.
