After a runner-up performance in the opening leg of the Pure Ivory Series, Alloveragain stepped up her game and captured Monday’s lone division in the second leg of the series at Mohawk Racetrack.

Randy Waples picked up the catch-drive on the John Bax-trained Alloveragain, who left sharply from the outside of the gate and dropped neatly into the pocket while Dream For Lindy shot to the top and supplied the field with an opening quarter clocked in :28.3.

Waples then moved his charge off the rail going into the backstretch, and in a matter of strides Alloveragain secured the lead and then led the field through middle panels of :59.2 and 1:28.2. A :28.3 closing quarter helped the two-year-old daughter of Credit Winner-Armbro Déjà Vu post the win by two lengths over Jordan Blue Chip in 1:57. Ex Hanover rounded out the top three finishers in the $14,000 affair.

Sent off at odds of 6-1, Alloveragain improved her record to 1-1-0 from three starts for the partnership of Bax Stable and Glengate Farms. The $50,000 purchase from last year’s Harrisburg Yearling Sale bumped her bankroll to $10,500 with the win.

The $35,200 final of the Pure Ivory Series goes postward Monday, August 21 at Mohawk Racetrack.
