Cashman Memorial winner Gimpanzee remained No. 1 in this week’s Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, which saw three newcomers to the top 10 and four other horses change positions.
Hambletonian Stakes champion Ramona Hill jumped from fourth to second this week and received eight first-place votes. Gimpanzee received the remaining 27 first-place votes.
Cane Pace winner Tall Dark Stranger remained third followed by Lady Liberty winner Shartin N, who improved two spots from sixth. Completing the top five was Manchego, who dropped from second after a third-place finish in the Steele Memorial.
Sorella, the Hambletonian Oaks winner, went from receiving no points a week ago to No. 6. Atlanta, who finished fourth in the Cashman, dropped from fifth to seventh and was followed by Shady Daisy winner Reflect With Me and McKee Memorial winner Bettors Wish, both newcomers to the rankings.
Hambletonian runner-up Ready For Moni remained No. 10.
The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll does not determine Horse of the Year. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.
