Request For Parole and driver Travis Cullen pulled off a 10-1 upset defeating favourite Wrangler Magic by a neck in Friday night's $30,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred Pace at Mohawk Racetrack.

Following three straight runner-up finishes, Request For Parole halted Wrangler Magic's three-race win streak for Ashleigh and Ed Hensley. Sent postward at odds of 10-1, she returned $23.30 to her backers at the betting windows.

Bedroomconfessions (Sylvain Filion) was the leader through fractions of :26.3, :55.2 and 1:23, with Witch Dali (Jonathan Drury) advancing first-over. However, Wrangler Magic emerged from the pocket along the pylons while Request For Parole rallied off cover down the stretch, with the latter prevailing in 1:50.3. Forever Liza (Jody Jamieson) came on late to edge out Witch Dali and Bedroomconfessions for third prize.

Request For Parole has been a consistent contender on the WEG Circuit, putting together a 5-10-6 seasonal summary from 30 starts while banking $155,940. Lifetime, the seven-year-old Badlands Hanover-Give Me Life mare has won 22 races and $533,765 in purses.
