On Monday, August 11 at Monticello Raceway, driver Larry Stalbaum hit a major personal milestone, as he made a trip to the winner’s circle for the 5,000th time in his career.
Stalbaum guided a horse that he owns, Multiple Choice, to a three and a half-length win in the first race of Monticello’s afternoon program.
After the win, Stalbaum was surrounded in the winner’s circle by a throng of family, well-wishers and fellow horseman. Stalbaum has been a longtime regular pilot at Monticello, and he has branched out to Pocono Downs and Yonkers Raceway over the last few years.
“I am very glad that this win came at Monticello,” Stalbaum said in the winner’s circle. “I have a lot of fond memories here.”
