Opening day of the meet (Saturday, Aug. 10) at The Track On 2 saw a seven-race card topped by Triple Action, who equaled the track record for aged pacing mares.

The eight-year-old Brandons Cowboy mare led every step in a $4,700 conditioned pace, besting pocket-rider Cuttingtothechase by three-quarter lengths in a 1:56.3 mile with Maxsamian finishing third six lengths farther back. Lance Ward owns and trains the $5.40 winner, who collected her fourth victory from 21 starts this season and her 23rd from 163 overall while pushing her career earnings to $136,085. Triple Action matched the mark set by American Passion.

In the race following, Ladies From Hell charged first over to win the program feature: a $5,200 pace for fillies and mares. Trainer-driver Paul Davies, who co-owns the five-year-old daughter of Classic Card Shark with Deborah Pinel, sat fourth while Bearcat Josi set the pace. Davies then rushed Ladies From Hell towards the top heading to three-quarters and powered past through the stretch to win by one-and-a-half lengths over You Name It rallying for second. Bearcat Josi faded to third.

Sent the co-favourite with You Name It at 6-5, Ladies From Hell paid $4.60 to win. She won her fifth race from 23 starts this season and her 15th from 65 overall, surpassing $100,000 in career earnings.

The Track On 2's meet will continue through August with pari-mutuel racing every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Following a week off at the start of September, racing will shift to only Saturdays through Oct. 26.
