Roll With Sparky captured Tioga Downs’ $10,000 Fillies and Mares Open Handicap Pace on Wednesday (July 4) during a special matinee Independence Day program.
Roll With Sparky ($3.80) went to the lead and controlled all the fractions (:27.1, :57, 1:24) en route to a sharp score in 1:52.1. Miss Irish Rose A (driven by Larry Stalbaum) followed the whole way and finished second. K Js Caroline (Mike Merton) finished third.
Roll With Sparky is a four-year-old Roll With Joe mare that is trained by John MacDonald for owners James Graham, Lee Winters, and Paul Tandlmeyer. The victory was the fourth win of Roll With Sparky’s 2018 campaign. She now has 16 career victories.
MC Attagirl, driven by Fern Paquet Jr., recorded her seventh consecutive victory during the program, as she captured the $7,900 Fillies And Mares Open 3 in 1:52.4.
Tioga Downs will be dark on Friday (July 6), but live racing will return on Saturday (July 7) with an 11-race card that will get underway at 6:15 p.m.
