Prairie Fortune Steals Tioga Trot

Prairie Fortune charged late to steal Tioga Downs' $10,000 Open Trot on Saturday, July 29.

Sweet Thing took the early lead and carved out fractions of :27.2, :56.0, 1:24.1. Sitting fourth at the top of the stretch, Prairie Fortune flew by rivals and edged past tempo-setter Sweet Thing at the wire, while Dragin The Wagon finished third.

Prairie Fortune, owned by Laurie Poulin and trainer Mike Deterswould, won for the fifth time this season and for the 33rd time in his career, equaling his lifetime best of 1:53.2. He paid $9.80 to win.

Tioga Downs returns to live action on Sunday (July 30) with a 12 race card at 1 p.m.
