Gift Kronos just missed equaling the track mark for an aged trotting horse last night when it won the $28,750 Open Handicap Trot at Pocono Downs.
Gift Kronos, a six-year-old son of Viking Kronos, stopped the timer in 1:53.2, just one fifth of a second off Armbro Barrister's track record, which was put in during June, 2006.
Gift Kronos wrestled the lead away from the rest of the field before the 1:23.3 three quarters and held on for a three quarters of one length victory.
