On Friday, July 22, a standardbred racehorse had to be humanely euthanized after the trailer it was riding in which was headed for the Meadowlands Racetrack was involved in a traffic accident.

A report on nj.com explains that at roughly 2:50 p.m. a trailer carrying two horses to the East Rutherford, New Jersey oval crashed.

One of the horses, Kissmatt, survived the accident and was able to walk away, but Hay Beautiful had to be put down at the scene.

Please join Standardbred Canada in offering condolences to the connections of Hay Beautiful.
