Driver Matt Romano won the eighth race condition pace aboard Amillionpennies at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs on Saturday night, giving him 2,500 driving wins in his racing career.
Amillionpennies, who is also trained by Romano, sat on the inside behind pacesetting Andy Roo for much of the mile. In the stretch, the inside lane opened up and Romano urged Amillionpennies home for the milestone victory in 1:50.1.
Romano, who started his career back in 1984, has been a fixture and fan favourite at Pocono for many years. In his career, he has earned over $10.5 million on his drives.
