Not only was it a scorching day in the beautiful city of Fredericton, the action on the racetrack was hot and fast. Horse Racing New Brunswick presented a solid card of eight races.

Ramblinglily, in line to trainer Allan Jones in the $1,500 top class, turned in a overpowering win in a sizzling time of 1:56.4. Norm Leger owns the four-year-old mare, who sports a career record of 1:56.1, taken as a three-year-old.

After the dust had settled, she had romped to over a nine-length victory as she turned aside Sparky Bayama and A Weekend.

Sam Hodgin turned in an impressive day on the track as he guided three winners to victory lane. They included half siblings ROF Peruvian High and ROF Samurai. Both are trained by Zoran Petrovich. Hodgin's other win came with Spots Shadow in a maiden-breaking performance.

Racing will now switch to Saint John on Saturday, July 26 at 2 p.m.
