Cowgirl Hall Cruises In Preferred

Cowgirl Hall pulled the pocket at the three-quarters and exploded to an insurmountable lead en route to victory in Tuesday’s $20,000 Filly & Mare Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows.

Cowgirl Hall made the early lead but released Majestic Ginger at the quarter pole. When Dave Palone tipped Cowgirl Hall off the cones, the six-year-old daughter of Cash Hall-Centerfold Hall ended the suspense early, scoring in 1:53.3. Whata Donato was second, three lengths back, with Broadway Socks third.

Ron Burke trains Cowgirl Hall, who extended her career bankroll to $728,553, for Burke Racing Stable LLC, Weaver Bruscemi LLC, Jack Piatt III and Michael Rosenthal.
Mike Wilder and Burke each enjoyed a triple on the 14-race card.

On Wednesday, July 15, the live card at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino will offer two total-pool guarantees — a $15,000 guarantee for the Pick 5 and a $5,000 guarantee for the Pick 4. Both are offered as part of the United States Trotting Association's Strategic Wagering Initiative.

While the $5,000 Pick 4 guarantee is a regular feature each Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, The Meadows added the “instant” Pick 5 guarantee after Tuesday’s Pick 5 was uncovered, resulting in a two-day carryover of $4,046.68.

Minimum wager for the Pick 4 (races 4-7) and Pick 5 (races 11-15) is 50 cents. Since Pennsylvania law requires a minimum per-race wager of $2, a player wagering at the 50-cent level must bet at least four tickets.

First post for Wednesday’s program is 12:55 p.m.
