Another round of Series Quebecoise and another record falls. This time The Real One became the fastest three-year-old pacer in Hippodrome 3R history by virtue of his 1:54.1 victory on Sunday afternoon.

The Real One earned his third consecutive win in the series while shattering Duc Dorleans' 1:55.3 colt and gelding track record, which was set last Sunday.

Driven by Richard Simard, the Mach Three gelding followed favourite McKinney (Stephane Brosseau) through fractions of :27, :57 and 1:25.4 before kicking home in :28.1 to prevail by one and three-quarter lengths. Machtothemoon (Gilles Gendron) finished over seven lengths behind in third.

The win was the seventh in 10 starts this year for the Bertrand Ayotte trainee, who returned $5.20 as the 3-2 second choice. He is owned by Helene Fillion of Mirabel, Que.

In the second pacing colt divisions, favourite Duc Dorleans and driver Stephane Brosseau were headed by early breaker Alexis Style (Sylvain Lacaille) in a 1:57.1 mile, but inherited the win after judges ruled Alexis Style had caused interference. Royal Beauty A L (Marie Claude Auger) and Lucky Nadotremblay (Yves Filion) were bumped up to second and third while Alexis Style was set back to fourth. Jacques Dupont trains the Shanghai Phil gelding for Les Ecuries Dorleans Inc. of Repentigny, Que. and Gestion C. Levesque 2005inc of Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, Que.

Trainer/driver Marcel Barrieau and the Quebec-based Hudson Standardbred Stable Inc. enjoyed another productive weekend of series action sending out three consecutive winners on the card. Shanghai Mimi (1:57.3) and Racey Miss (1:57.1), both sired by Shanghai Phil, won their respective pacing filly divisions while Kadabra trotting colt Mr Vs Victory (2:00) also took top honours. All three homebreds were also winners last week.

Canbec Kangourou won the trotting filly division by 14-1/4 lengths in 2:01.4. Jocelyn Gendron drove the Amigo Hall miss, who is a perfect three-for-three in the series, for trainer Daniel Martin and co-owner Lapharmaciedekedgwick Inc. of Kedgwick, N.B.
