Wilsons Elim Winners Dominate Foes

Charlottes Style and Glenview Paisley dominated the elimination round of the Wilsons Home Heating Fillies & Mares Series on Friday night (July 13) at Truro Raceway, blasting to command and winning by a combined 15-1/4 lengths.

Charlottes Style was no match for her rivals in the first $1,400 elimination as she won by nine and a half lengths in 1:59.2 with Paul Langille along for the ride. The seven-year-old Coastocoast Yankee mare is owned by trainer Devin O'Connor and Charles O'Connor of New Glasgow, N.S. Prada Spur and Gold Record were the best of the rest.

Glenview Paisley was five and three-quarters lengths in front of her foes when crossing the finish line in 1:57.4. Ernest Laffin drove the four-year-old Immachulate mare for trainer Dave Carey and local owner Ronald Harris. P H Powerful was second-best and sophomore filly Pia Hanover rounded out the top three finishers.

Both mares earned their first wins of the season.

CC Stables' Stature Seelster was the fastest of the night, winning the week's $1,675 top class in 1:57 flat with Kirk Parris in the bike for trainer Chris Covin.
