The new Catch Driver Pick-4 wager at Clinton Raceway this season produced a major payout on Sunday afternoon (July 12), as one winning ticket paid just over $2,000 on a 20-cent bet.

The ticket featured three long shots to help weed out ticket hopefuls. Race two saw a $19.70 winner with Stonebridge Drama, in line to Clinton's leading driver Brett MacDonald for owner Gary Stoddart and trainer Pat Bissett. Race three went to a 24-1 shot Favors Way for owner-trainer Brian Shewfelt and driver Austin Sorrie. Rounding out the Pick-4 in race four was Life Is Better, driven by Natasha Day to a narrow upset.

Clinton's second leading driver, Austin Sorrie, crept closer to the lead with a driving grand slam, while Patrick Shepherd registered a training triple on the day's card.

Wagering remains strong in the fifth week of live harness racing without spectators, as handle reached $58,000.

Originally scheduled for next Sunday (July 19), the fifth annual Vic Hayter Memorial Trot has been moved to Aug. 30. More details will be released on the event as they become available.

Live harness racing continues at the Huron County oval next Sunday, with post time at 1:30 p.m.
