No Contest In Truro’s Opener

The Sunday matinee at Truro Raceway started off with a “no contest” as a result of a spill that took place shortly after the start

.

MD Hardlys Success, in rein to Ryan Ellis, made a break and interfered with a number of other pacers including Double Delight, who was being catch-driven by Clare MacDonald. MacDonald’s filly lost her footing and fell, and the fallen horse prompted the judges to declare the event a “no contest”.

Word comes from Truro Raceway that Double Delight suffered no major injuries as a result of the fall. MacDonald, who is as resilient as they come, bounced back to drive – and win – later on the card. She piloted one of her own students, Milliondollar Jen, to a 2:00.3 score in the seventh race.
