Driver Chris Lems racked up four wins on Friday (June 23) at Vernon Downs, including a victory in the $7,500 Fillies & Mares feature with Little Santamonica ($2.80).

Owned by Courtney Crawford and trained by Jordan Hope, the nine-year-old Little Steven mare went gate-to-wire in 1:51.1. Little Santamonica never had a tense moment as she notched her 53rd career victory. Dreas Good Powow (John MacDonald) followed the whole way to finish second. Love Live Laugh (Jimmy Whittemore) was a distant third.

Lems began the night with a first race victory aboard two-year-old first-time starter Clive Bigsby (sired by Muscle Mass). Clive Bigsby ($3.80) took the lead right before the top of the stretch and won easily by four lengths in 1:58.1. Missus Mia Wallace (Homer Hochstetler) finished second with Ladydini (Howard Okusko Jr.) third.

"Lemsy" also scored a win driving Without A Clue ($18.20) going gate-to-wire in 1:54.4 and just holding off the late charge by Jersey Boy (Ben McNeil). Walk The Floor (Angus Mac Donald) was third.

Lems earned his other win during race number eight with Hes Gone ($3.80) running past Atoastandcaviar (John MacDonald) in 1:55.1. Jacksons Gold (Jimmy Wittemore) was third.

Live racing returns to Vernon Downs on Saturday night (June 24) with a 13-race card starting at 6:45 p.m.
