OSS Gold Series To Kick Off Monday

Freshly minted millionaire Bee A Magician will be looking to extend her perfect record to six wins in the Ontario Sires Stakes' Gold Series season opener at Mohawk Racetrack on Monday, June 24.

Flawless in open stakes action this spring, the three-year-old trotting filly and driver Rick Zeron of Oakville will have their hands full on Monday. Bee A Magician will start from Post 9 and will face a tough field that includes Elegantimage Stakes runner-up Angies Lucky Star from Post 6.

Angies Lucky Star and last year’s top OSS reinsman, Sylvain Filion of Milton, will be looking to avenge the narrow loss they suffered in the Elegantimage Stakes. The daughter of Angus Hall will be looking to notch the third win of the season in the first of two $105,000 Gold divisions.

Ontario’s three-year-old pacing colts and geldings will also swing into action on Monday at Mohawk. In the first $70,000 division (Race 4), last season's OSS Super Final divisional champion Mach Pride will be looking to notch the first win of his 2013 campaign from Post 9. Mach Pride and Campbellville resident Mike Saftic will face an impressive field which includes the swift Windsong Jack from Post 1 and Closing Credits from Post 6.

Monday's program of live racing at Mohawk will get underway at 7:25 p.m. The three-year-old trotting fillies will line up for Races 2 and Race 5. The three-year-old pacing colts are set to do battle in Race 4, Race 7 and Race 10.
