Zmija Wins Pick 8 Challenge

Larry Zmija of Kitchener, Ont. won the ‘I Love Canadian Harness Racing’ Fan Club’s Pick 8 Online Handicapping Challenge for the Quebec / Eastern Ontario Regional Driving Championship that took place at Hippodrome 3R on Tuesday evening.

Zmija, who has been a racing fan for 35 years, was one of 24 people who selected Guy Gagnon as the winner of the RDC. However, he was the only person who selected Sylvain Lacaille as the runner up. Zmija was a Top 5 finisher in the 2009 edition of the Trot Canada National Handicapping Championship that took place at Rideau Carleton Raceway. He frequents his favourite racetrack, Grand River Raceway, and plays all of the Fan Club online contests.
