Its Huw You Know ($2.30) looked every bit the odds-on favourite in Wednesday's (June 19) $8,500 Preferred 3 Trot at Grand River Raceway, and he delivered with an easy 2-1/4 length victory.

The now 21-time winner protected pole position on the first turn, yielding only to 80-1 outsider Eagle Scout (Dennis Duford) before Ed Hensley moved him back to the top just after a :30 first quarter. After reclaiming control of the terms, Its Huw You Know coasted along uncontested through middle splits of :59.4 and 1:29.2.

On approach to the far turn, Sizzlen Hot Herbie (Natasha Day) made a bid to take second from the tiring Eagle Scout and subsequently pursue Its Huw You Know to the top of the stretch. However, the seven-year-old Holiday Road gelding responded to the threat and held clear through the final furlong to prevail in a hand-driven 1:58.4.

Sizzlen Hot Herbie checked in a clear second, 4-1/4 lengths better than Bastiano (Dave Boughton), who rallied belatedly into third.

Driver Ed Hensley co-owns Its Huw You Know with trainer Ashleigh Hensley.
