The betting public didn’t give Don Mcwhite much pari-mutuel love in Tuesday’s $11,000 Preferred 2 for horses and geldings, but that didn’t stop the Corey Johnson trainee from posting a 1:51 victory at odds of 14-1.

With J Harris barking out orders from the racebike, Don Mcwhite blasted to the lead from Post 3 and he successfully whacked out fractions of :27.2, :56.3 and 1:24.3 before storming home in :27.1 to win by 3-3/4 lengths over Whatashowinontario. UF Bettors Hanover rounded out the Trifecta ticket.

Johnson shares ownership on the four-year-old son of Mcardle-Banska Bela with Sergis Racing Stable LLC of Canton, NY. It was the third win of the season in 18 attempts for the career winner of $87,860.

Earlier on the card in the $7,500 Preferred 3 for horses and geldings, Totally Kissed used the same approach – catch me if you can – en route to winning in an impressive clocking of 1:52.1 for driver Scott Young.

The gelding powered to the lead from Post 5 and led the group through panels of :26.4, :55.4 and 1:23.1 before using a :29-second kicker to prevail by 3-1/4 lengths over Sir Galahad. No Bu took home the show dough.

Trainer Gary Lance co-owns the six-year-old son of Total Truth-Thirsty For Kisses with Patrick Dillon of Port Hope, Ont. The partners watched the pacer improve this year’s record to 3-2-2 from 18 starts with the win. The 13-time winner has banked nearly $170,000 in his career.
