Glidinthruparadise dug deep late to hold off the determined challenge of Expose Yourself and capture Wednesday’s (May 9) $22,000 Fillies and Mares Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows.

Each protagonist had been hard used before their head-to-head duel unfolded. Glidinthruparadise needed to reel off a :27 first quarter to make the front for trainer-driver Brian Zendt while Expose Yourself, saddled with post 9, found an early seat in fourth before launching her uncovered bid. That set the stage for their confrontation in the lane, which Glidinthruparadise won by three-quarters of a length in a career-best 1:53.2. Dreamsteeler earned show.

Lisa Dunn owns Glidinthruparadise, a five-year-old daughter of Yankee Glide and Chowda who won her second straight and now boasts a lifetime bankroll of $184,408.

Tyler Stillings fashioned a training and driving double while Tony Hall, Aaron Merriman and Zendt collected a pair of driving wins each on the 13-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows resumes Saturday (May 12), when the card features a $168,237 Pennsylvania Sire Stakes for three-year-old trotting fillies, a $7,500 total-pool guarantee for the Pick 4 (races 4 through 7) and a $5,000 total-pool guarantee for the Pick 5 (races 8 through 12). First post is 1:05 p.m.
