Returning to the $6,950 Winners Over Handicap class off a three-month layoff, trotter Unabating led wire-to-wire for Rideau Carleton Raceway's top trainer Gerard Demers, who also sent out three other winners on the Sunday (May 8) card.

Sent postward as the 5-1 fourth choice in his return to the races, Unabating and driver Guy Gagnon led eight rivals through panels of :28.2, :58.4 and 1:28 on the way to a two and a quarter length victory in 1:57.3. Unabating paid $13.40 to win. Favourite Michelangelo (Richard Simard) followed in second and Heres The Magic (Gord Brown) went first over to show.

The win was the first in four starts this year for Unabating and his 20th lifetime, pushing his earnings to $217,548.

Catheline Pelletier of Mirabel, Que. owns the eight-year-old gelded son of Broadway Hall along with another Demers-trained Sunday winner, Rave On ($2.90). Gagnon drove Rave On and Boy Meets Grill ($3.70) while Gord Brown was aboard Tim T ($4.70) to complete Demers' winning line up.
