Monochromatic Wins Harrington Feature; Chancey Lady Retired

North State Street Stable’s Monochromatic had a happy homecoming to her home state with a 1:54.3 win over an off-track Tuesday at Harrington Raceway in the $18,000 Mares Open feature.

The eight-year-old Dream Away mare was a wire-to-wire winner for driver Victor Kirby over Kissed By the Sun and Keystone Rhythm for her seventh win of the year. Monochromatic surpassed $100,000 in seasonal earnings with the triumph as she notched her 40th career win. The Dylan Davis-trainee, who paid $4.40, had previously raced in Pennsylvania the past month before returning to her Delaware roots.

Meanwhile, Larry Baron’s Chancey Lady finished fifth and raced for the final time in her illustrious career. The eight-year-old Camluck mare, trained by Josh Green, made nearly $2.1 million lifetime and Is the 11th richest pacing mare of all-time. She took her lifetime best of 1:48.4 at Harrah’s Philadelphia as a five-year-old.

Chancey Lady will soon head to Blue Chip Farms to be bred to standout stallion Somebeachsomewhere.

Kirby recorded a driving triple on the program, while Allan Davis, George Dennis and Ross Wolfenden each had doubles.
