The state-bred stakes action continued on Wednesday night at Balmoral Park as a total of 16 three-year-old filly

pacers met in two divisions of a $12,430 Illinois Standardbred Owners & Breeders Association Stakes.

In the opener Robert McCormick’s Aristocracy used her potent closing kick to sweep by her rivals in the late going en route to a career-best clocking of 1:54.1.

Reserved in the early going by driver Marcus Miller, the daughter of Arts Conquest-Theocracy was content to bide her time as Honey B Skipalong and Stohli Dohli battled through splits of :28, :56.2 and 1:25.4. Miller flipped off cover at the head of the lane and the filly roared home in :27.4 to post the win.

The Erv Miller trainee, who defeated Towne Nurse and Stohli Dohli, won for the fourth time this season. Unraced at two, Aristocracy now boasts a 4-1-3 record in 10 career starts. Sent off as the 4-5 favourite, Aristocracy has banked more than $15,000 to date.

The heavy betting favourite also prevailed in the second division as Kay Willis and Richard Beere’s Native Hotspur remained undefeated in 2009 thanks to a front-stepping score in a career-best clocking of 1:53.

Driver Josh Sutton fired the daughter of Ft Apache Hanover-Broadway Charisma to immediate command from post seven, and after chopping out splits of :27.4, :56.3 and 1:24.4 she kicked home in :28.1 to seal the deal. Guan Yin was second and Honeys Luck finished third.

She put together a record of 4-4-2 in 15 starts during her freshman season while earning over $58,000 along the way. Her latest effort brings her overall bankroll to $81,942.
