On May 24, Monticello Raceway will present the Maple Leaf Pace for drivers of Canadian descent which will be the fifth leg of the track's Heritage Drivers Series

.

“We could think of no better day to salute our good neighbors from the north with a race for drivers of Canadian heritage than on Canada’s legal holiday, Victoria Day, which this year falls on May 24,” noted Monticello Raceway Director of Racing Eric Warner. “And since we’ve announced the race a week or so ago, we have had many inquiries.”

Among those Warner was referring to are Canadians Travis Henry and Maxime Velaye, two up-and-coming young drivers that are currently competing at Flamboro Downs.

Warner said he also has heard from Mark Gingrich and Glenn LeDrew, both of whom are interested in competing in the Maple Leaf Pace.

Without firm confirmation from eight drivers, Warner still is seeking drivers of Canadian heritage to participate in the Maple Leaf Pace. Anyone interested can contact Warner in the race office by calling 845-794-4100 (Ext. 557) or they can call the publicity department at extension 455.
