McNair On Precocious Beauty, GRR

In an article which appears in the Guelph Mercury, driver Doug McNair has commented on Precocious Beauty, one of his top mounts, and the upcoming meet of live harness racing at Grand River Raceway, which is located just minutes from his home.

"Everyone is watching her," Doug said about Precocious Beauty, who has been entered to race Friday at Vernon Downs.

McNair said he enjoys the pressure of driving the three-year-old filly that is trained by his father, Gregg.

"I'd rather be driving her than a horse that's 99-1 in a race,” Doug said. “I love when I'm 1-5 or 1-9, or 2-1. It's a lot easier if you have the best horse. They can make you look good if you screw up."

The young pilot also discussed Grand River Raceway, which will get its eleventh season of live harness racing underway this coming Monday.

"There's a lot of things I love about that track," Doug said. "The atmosphere is fun...I know a lot of people there and it's close to my house."
