Race favourite Likely To Win lived up to his name in Truro Raceway's top pacing class on Sunday afternoon.

Driven by Ryan Ellis for trainer Adam Merner in the $1,275 Winners Over, Likely To Win ($3.20) scored the victory in 1:59.1 in front-end fashion. Oakmont and Danny Romo followed one length behind in second while pacing mare Lucky Taryn and Darren Crowe finished four lengths back in third.

Likely To Win has earned cheques in all six of his seasonal starts, with half of those being winning portions of the purses.

The four-year-old Western Terror gelding is owned by Blenise Young of Long Point, N.S., along with Lester Campbell and James Gillis of Judique, N.S.

Ellis and Merner also teamed up for an earlier win with Rhea Chase's 10-year-old pacer Secret Fantasy in 2:01.2.
