Bill Sanders’ Sand E Fiftyfive ($38.40) won the $101,700 Miller Lite Courageous Lady for three-year-old filly pacers at Northfield Park Saturday night

by one-half length over Cams Van Go. Favoured Palazzo Princess was third.

Sand E Fiftyfive was timed in 1:55.4 for the mile. Tony Hall drove the winner, a daughter of I am A Fool from Scootin Mercedes, for locally-based trainer Tye Loy.

Palazzo Princess took the lead and hit the quarter mile in :26.2 after a brief duel with Save My Shark. She then yielded to Singnoevil Hanover, who reached the half in :55.1 and was still leading at the 1:24.4 three-quarters, as the field tightened. Cams Van Go moved three-wide to challenge as Save My Shark, who had pulled at the half, tired. The entire field was within three lengths at the top of the stretch as Sand E Fiftyfive moved four wide around the final turn to get the win, her first of the season.

The $50,850 winners share of the purse pushed her career earnings to $155,561 in 14 starts.
