To Helen Back converted a perfect pocket trip into her second consecutive win in the $44,000 Fillies & Mares Open Pace at Mohawk Racetrack on Friday night

With Mike Saftic in the bike, the six-year-old mare sired by Astreos tracked Marietta Hall (Rick Zeron) through early fractions of :27.1 and :56 before springing into action. The fan favourite popped the pocket en route to three quarters in 1:24.4 and took the lead heading into the stretch. To Helen Back was able to hold off Dreamfair Eternal for the win by half a length in 1:51.4. Hana Hanover (Randy Waples) rounded out the top three.

Trained by John Pentland for Mike and Anne Shunock of Dorchester, Ont., To Helen Back notched her second win in seven tries giving her over $81,000 so far this year. Her 19th lifetime score lifted her total bankroll to $874,850.
