Cash Poor scored in Sunday’s $15,000 Open Trot at Saratoga Casino Hotel.

Jim Devaux piloted the Harry Reddick Jr. trainee and moved the speedy high-stepper first over just past the half. Cash Poor powered past the race’s leader before drawing off to win in 2:03 in the 1-1/16 miles feature. Boli (Wally Hennessey) closed sharply for second in his local debut while veteran Slugfest (Jay Randall) earned the show spot.

The win was the fourth on the season for the eight-year-old Cash Hall gelding, who is owned by Traylor Racing LLC. He returned $9.30 to win and started an exacta and triple that paid $68.50 and $209, respectively.
