A very lucky simulcast bettor won a $147,507.20 payoff at Scioto Downs after hitting a carryover jackpot on a Pick 6 race at Churchill Downs on Friday night

Federal regulations require tracks to withhold taxes on gambling winnings, so the Scioto patron walked away from the track with a whopping $113,847.20.

Meanwhile, Scioto's harness racing meet kicked off on Friday night with drivers Dan Noble and Kayne Kauffman dominating the card. Noble won the first four races of Friday night’s opening program at Scioto Downs while rival Kauffman won four of the last five races. Noble added another win on the program to give him five wins to Kauffman’s four.

Noble took the first race of the season with Baby Blue Pajamas, winning from Post 8 at 6-1 odds by coming overland during the second half-mile to win over Admirals Diamond and Shezasilverlady in the 1:58 mile. The winner is owned by Aaron Sandin of Lebanon, Ohio and trained by Lamar Moody. It was her third win in 10 starts this season.

The featured Fillies and Mares Pace was taken by Western Royalty and driver Kauffman with a 1:54 effort over Atheleticlyinclined and Gran Cameo. She came from last place after the first half-mile to secure victory with a determined bid in the final quarter. She’s owned by Miller’s Stable and trained by Jim Mulinix.

Kauffman also took another Fillies and Mares Pace with TTs Little Lass in 1:54.2 as the four-year-old mare passed pacesetting Arion entering the stretch to win by one and a quarter lengths. Arion assumed command after the first eighth for driver Noble and set fast fractions with TTs Little Lass on her back. The headstrong Arion was unable to respond when TTs Little Lass launched her attack.

The featured trot was the only race that went to another driver. Cant Lose lived up to his name for owner-trainer-driver Ty Van Rhoden on Washington Court House. The high-stepping four-year-old son of Cantab Hall set all the fractions in the 1:57.3 mile to win the fifth race and break driver Dans Noble streak.
