Mud Pie Hanover Goes The Distance

Mud Pie Hanover outlasted her competition on the front end to win Tuesday night’s featured pace for mares at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs

. The race, which had a condition of winners of over $25,000 lifetime, carried the night’s top purse of $25,000.

Mud Pie Hanover, leaving from Post 2 in a field of eight as the 3-1 third choice, gunned to the lead for driver George Napolitano, Jr. around the first turn. The six-year-old mare from the barn of Jason Robinson held off the charge of pocket horse Ticket To Rock in the stretch, beating her by a length in a career-best time of 1:51. Omen Hanover finished third.

Mud Pie Hanover, owned by Robert Main and sired by Allamerican native, won for the fourth time in 11 races this season. It was her 27th lifetime win, as her career earnings soared to $319,134.
