A horse racing analyst has turned into a bit of an internet sensation this week, as footage of him ‘encouraging’ a horse through the homestretch from his broadcasting set has been making the rounds online.

An article by ninemsn.com.au explains that TAB Trackside racing analyst Aidan Rodley, who is also the agent for jockey Opie Bosson, was in the studio on Monday, April 6 while the $2 million Australian Derby, a Grade 1 stakes race for the runners, was being contested at Randwick in New South Wales.

The report states that Rodley had no idea that he was still being filmed while watching the lucrative stakes tilt. Mongolian Khan, a three-year-old ridden by Bosson, made a successful bid for the win during the stretch. Feeling the full rush of the moment from his chair in the studio, Rodley did all he could to make sure his client’s charge got up for the big win.

Rodley can be seen and heard yelling “Come on, Opie!” through the stretch and bursts into celebration after Bosson and Mongolian Khan win.

Got a great kick out of the video, now that's a dedicated fan. Good for him.
