Bob Cowan, Co-Host of CHCH's Morning Live, was named Flamboro Downs' 2015 Announcer Idol as voting concluded for the second edition of the contest for charity.
Cowan faced off with eight other local media broadcast personalities in the harness racing announcing competition that ran from January through March. The winner received a $1,000 donation to the charity of his choice, which was the Children’s Aid Foundation of Halton.
Over 39 per cent of the 12,120 fan votes were cast for Cowan's call of the third race on January 18. CKOC's Mike Nabuurs was a close runner-up with his race call from January 25 garnering nearly 37 per cent of the votes while defending champion Brian West from Y108 rounded out the triactor with 14 per cent of voters favouring his call from the final week of the competition on March 22.
