The drive to nationally televise two of harness racing's major stakes races has received a major boost from three sources, pushing the total to more than $55,000 in just four days.

Horseman Jack Darling started the crowdsourcing last week through his Trot Blog, calling on industry participants to contribute to a fund dedicated to pay for coverage of The Meadowlands Pace and the Little Brown Jug.

On Sunday, both Hall of Famer Bill Weaver and the Somebeachsomewhere Syndicate & Hanover Shoe Farms each contributed $5,000.

"We are all very happy to contribute to this fund that was created to help sponsor the TV broadcast of these two great races," said Brent MacGrath on behalf of the Somebeachsomewhere Syndicate & Hanover.

On Monday, Brittany Farms also pledged $5,000, pushing the total raised to $56,750.

Darling started with his goal of $75,000. Since then, a revised proposal was approved on Friday that would see the USTA contribute to help fund televising the Little Brown Jug. The Grand Circuit also pledged financial support on Friday.
