Wakizashi Hanover, the 2015 Pepsi North America Cup winner, proved the best in Harrah’s Philadelphia’s featured race on Sunday (April 22).

After starting from Post 5 in an $18,000 upper-conditioned event, the gelded son of Dragon Again went right to the front and made every call (:27.2, :56.2, 1:24.1) a winning one.

The career winner of more than $1.5 million in purses fired home in :27.4 and stopped the clock in 1:52. The margin of victory was one length. Cooperstown (driven by Corey Callahan) finished second, while The Wayfaring Man (Yannick Gingras) was third.

The victory marked the 22nd career win for Wakizashi Hanover, who was driven by Tim Tetrick and is trained by Jim King Jr. The NA Cup champ is owned by Bruce Kennedy and the Tri County Stables of Truro, Nova Scotia.
