Gallant Seelster ($4.70) put in a gallant effort and easily strolled away for a two-length victory over Littlebitaclass in Buffalo Raceway's featured $10,000 Open Pace on Saturday night (April 15).

Drawing the inside post in the field of seven, Gallant Seelster (David McNeight III) went gate-to-wire in a seasonal best 1:54 over the fast track.

From the start, it was Gallant Seelster who was in command as the rest of the field fell in behind in post position order. Setting markers of :29.1, :57.3, and 1:26.2, Gallant Seelster dropped a :27.3 final panel to squash the hopes of the closers.

Littlebitaclass (Ray Fisher Jr.) held on for second-place while Hot Deuce (Drew Monti) rallied for the show spot.

Owned by Pete Kibler, James Costa and Courtney McNeight, the seven-year-old gelded Gallant Seelster (Stonebridge Regal-Gold Not Silver) is trained by David McNeight Jr. The victory was the sixth of the season for Gallant Seelster, now a winner of $37,778 in 2017 and $430,969 lifetime.

Larry Stalbaum took the spotlight for the drivers with a four-bagger, Fisher Jr. had a triple while McNeight III posted two victories. Gerry Sarama and Sabrina Clevenger trained a pair of winners.

Racing will resume on Wednesday night at 5 p.m. with a 10-race card scheduled.
