Friday night was a special night for the McClure family as cousins Bob and Ryan McClure teamed up for their first career wins at Flamboro Downs

.

Driver Bob McClure guided the five-year-old Yankee Paco trotter Muchacho Grande to victory for trainer Ryan McClure in the second race.

Bob steered the 20-1 longshot to victory after making a first-over move before the opening quarter. The bay gelding was on top by the half, then shook off a challenge from Wine Merchant (Tony Kerwood) at three-quarters before trotting away by two and a half lengths to win in a new mark of 2:02.

Panorama Seelster (Randy Fritz) and S A Eldorado (Stephane Lareau) came on for second and third.

Ryan’s father, William McClure, owns the winner of two races and $19,705 in purses with Salvatore Sonsogno of Caledon, Ont.

At 18 years old, Bob’s first win came after just 12 tries while Ryan, 20, notched his first training score after an impressive 23 starts.
