Securing the lead from post two, Retros Mystery withstood first-over pressure from Phanatical Maniac to take the $8,100 featured pace at Century Downs in 1:54.3 on the Sunday, March 31 program.

The Stewart Waterman owned-and-trained gelding led pocket-sitter Chalk Player to a :27.2 opening quarter while Phanatical Maniac tracked from third. By the half in :56.3, Phanatical Maniac soon tipped off the rail and marched to within a length of the lead passing a 1:25.2 third quarter. Retros Mystery opened his lead a touch into the lane and held off a final surge from Phanatical Maniac to win by three-quarter lengths. Chalk Player, three lengths back, finished third.

A five-year-old gelding by Mystery Chase, Retros Mystery won his third race from four starts this season and his eighth from 67 overall, earning $87,733. David Kelly drove the $14.50 winner.

Kicking off the Sunday card, Royal Mistress went wire to wire as the 5-2 favourite in the $8,100 co-featured fillies and mares pace. The five-year-old Jk Royal Flush mare set fractions of :28.2, :59 and 1:27.1 on the lead while chased by Maid In Alberta moving to the final turn. Maid In Alberta narrowed Royal Mistress's lead through the stretch, but finished shy a head in the 1:56.2 mile.

A homebred for trainer Rod Hennessy and Lorne Duffield, Royal Mistress won her 11th race from 68 starts, earning $56,044. Doug Chappell drove the $7.10 winner.
