The four-year-old Explosive Matter mare Wynd Creek wound from the back of the pack to land on the finish in front and win the $8,800 featured trot at The Raceway at Western Fair District on Wednesday (March 3).

Ten Four We Gone grabbed command from post 4 moving to a :29.4 opening quarter with Rose Run Unclebuck settling into the pocket. Driver Colin Kelly raced fifth with Wynd Creek, and remained in position as Ten Four We Gone strolled to the half in 1:02.2. As the tempo quickened to the backstretch, Kelly kicked Wynd Creek off the cones and progressed towards the leader nearing three-quarters in 1:32.3. Inching closer into the final turn, Wynd Creek drew to equal terms with Ten Four We Gone moving through the stretch, and downed the odds-on favourite at the beam by a head in the 2:02.2 mile. Rose Run Unclebuck finished third.

Owned and trained by Katie Graham, Wynd Creek won her seventh race from 29 starts, earning $41,403. She paid $12.40 to win.
