Borth Avoids Injuries In WFD Spill

Driver Tyler Borth managed to walk away unscathed from a spill in Wednesday's 11th race at Western Fair Raceway.

Trailing tier starter Strong Together got away fourth into the clubhouse turn, but broke stride and stumbled, dumping Borth from the sulky.

The five-year-old pacing mare, trained by Rick Wade, ran loose before being corralled without incident while Borth confirmed with Trot Insider that he is doing fine following the spill.

MachIntosh (Nick Steward) was interfered with while the trailing Flight Delay (Alfie Carroll) and Twin B Glamorous (Dave Wall) fanned wide to avoid the incident and complete the race, which was won by D D Glamour (Robert Sparling Jr.).

In other racing action, Whosurbanker ran his win streak up to five for his new trainer, Ron Adams, in the second dash.

Driver Doug McNair sent Whosurbanker after the leading Radiant Guy (J Harris) as the field moved in front of the grandstand for the first time and wore down the front-runner into the stretch. The favourite won by two lengths over the sloppy surface in 2:00 flat, returning $2.90 to his backers. Pocket-sitter Good For Jereme (Jason Brewer) edged out Radiant Guy for the runner-up honours.

The four-year-old Whosurboy gelding was claimed for $12,500 from the Dean Wall barn two starts ago on March 6 by David Kryway of Amherstburg, Ont. and has since joined the Adams stable.

He is now five-for-nine on the year with over $16,000 banked in purses.
