Public choices Mach Stockn Barrel and Fox Valley Veto took the co-featured Open Pace and Open Trot, respectively, on the Saturday, March 17 program at Buffalo Raceway.

Mach Stockn Barrel used an inside trip to capture the $9,500 Pace by topping Hardts Or Bettor by a half length in 1:56.1 over the fast surface.

Taking control just past the opening panel, Mach Stockn Barrel cruised on the front and past the three-quarter marker leading Hardts Or Bettor. Im So Handsome, from first over, advanced towards the leader, taking a narrow advantage around the final turn before faltering into the stretch. Mach Stockn Barrel then held off a late challenge by Hardts Or Bettor to win, with China Dream finishing third.

Owned by William Emmons and trained by James Clouser Jr., Mach Stockn Barrel, by Mach Three-Timeless Classic, is a seven-year-old gelding that has earned $26,256 this season and $146,980 lifetime. Winning his fifth race in eight starts this season, Shawn Gray piloted the $3.30 winner.

Fox Valley Veto, after four-consecutive second-place finishes, finished in front to take the $9,500 Trot going wire to wire over Lenny Mac by one-and-a-half lengths in 2:00.2.

Fox Valley Veto wasted no time in taking control, zooming to the lead and holding firmly. Strolling through three-quarters, Fox Valley Veto sprinted home in front of Lenny Mac, who couldn't make any headway in the lane while City Kid took third.

Co-owned by Vogel & Wags Nags Stable along with Jack Rice, Fox Valley Veto, by Piazzazzed-Yankee Victory, is a seven-year-old gelding trained by Maria Rice. The victory upped his seasonal bankroll to $21,829 and $416,667 in his career. Driven by Billy Davis Jr., he paid $3.00 to win.

Gray turned in five winners on the program. Clouser Jr. had four on the training side, with JD Perrin adding three.

Racing will return on Wednesday, March 28 at 5 p.m. with a 12-race program slated.
