Columbus Exposition and Racing has teamed up with a local Nebraska high school in a collaborative effort that sees teenagers marketing the sport of horse racing as part of a school assignment.

As an article by The Columbus Telegram explains, some students enrolled at David City High School work on a marketing assignment that promotes racing and has a goal of bringing more people out to Platte County Agricultural Park.

The report states that Tom Jahde – a former principle at the school district that David City High School is in – is a member of Columbus Exposition and Racing. He helped start the collaboration with the high school students in 2014.

The article states that the collaboration allows the students to get some real-world experience in the field of marketing and promotions, while racing gets a fresh marketing perspective from members of a younger demographic.

The Columbus Telegram piece states that the students develop concepts for billboards, advertisements, commercials, fliers, posters, etc., as well as various online components.
