There was no stopping teamster Bob McClure during Thursday’s 11-race card at Flamboro Downs, as the young reinsman gobbled up wins on six occasions.

McClure got the ball rolling with Diggin In (1:57) in Race 2 and he added wins with Moon Lake (1:57.4 – Race 4), Watt A Funny Face (1:58 – Race 5), Spicey Victor (1:58.4 – Race 8) and Windsong Lord (1:57.1 – Race 11).

He also captured the $7,500 Preferred 3 for trotters in Race 10 with the Ben Baillargeon-trained Muscle Matters in 1:59.

The six-year-old son of Muscle Mass-Sister Mary Lindy survived a first-over journey to win a half-length margin over Little Red Chev. ABC Muscles Boy took home third prize.

The gelding is owned by Baillargeon and partners Richard Thompson, Santo Vena and Nunzio Vena.

As for McClure, the O’Brien Award finalist from last season has kicked off his 2017 with plenty of fire in his belly. Not about to rest on his laurels, the Elora, Ont. resident has already piled up 66 wins this season and purses earnings of $282,118. He set personal best totals for wins (576) and earnings ($3,000,808) in 2016.
