Frank Milby highlighted a super Sunday night (February 25) card at Rosecroft Raceway by picking up five wins on the 13-race card.

Milby broke the maiden for Boot Leg in Race 4 in 1:55.3, as he held off a solid first-over challenge from Go Sue Me (driven by Justin Vincent) and the fast-closing Foxbriar Romeo (Allan Davis). It was the first of two wins on the card for trainer John Hollingsworth, who combined with Milby for a win with Abelard Hanover. The 10-year-old son of Rocknroll Hanover won for the 49th time in 199 starts. His lifetime earnings now sit at $742,782.

Milby also scored with Bevnlindas Sunnap, Its Outta Here (16-1), and Toms Titan.

Roger Plante had a driving double. He scored a big win with Rocktavious ($9.80) in the $10,000 Open Handicap. Plante hustled the winner right to the top, put eventual third place finisher Hickory Aloha in the pocket, and held off a late charge from Kiss A Dragon to win in 1:51.3 on a track labelled ‘fast,’ but certainly wet from two straight days of rain. Rocktavious is owned by Bib Roberts and William De Lodovico and is trained by Megan Roberts.

Plante and Roberts also teamed up with an impressive win by Capital Builder. A recent private purchase, Roberts switched the long striding son of Somebeachsomewhere to a free-legged rigging and he has been a beast in his first two local starts. The five-year-old was three for 27 lifetime before the switch.

Talbot Redneck, a gorgeous 14-year-old chestnut son of Misfit, picked up his 55th career win in start No. 352. Longtime pilot Kim Vincent sat a patient third before pouncing in the final quarter-mile to win in 1:55. Talbot Redneck is owned by breeder David Donahue and trainer Ken Schlotzhauer. Schlotzhauer had a training triple. Sambestmckee was second and Yippy Ki Yo was third.

The best finish of the night came in Race 11, as Beammeupscottie ($60.40) held off Diamondkeeper (John Wagner) and Extreme Machine N (Davis) in a thrilling stretch drive that separated the winners by inches (Cousin Brucie and Baby Kitty were also just a length off). Jason Thompson drove the winner for Gloria Kinnamon and trainer Jamie Vance. The trifecta returned $1,858.40.

Two 18-year-olds made Rosecroft driving debuts in the bike Sunday night. Declan Donoway won the finale with Hrubys N Luck by just over six lengths in 1:54.3 for owner Carolyn Boyce and trainer Brian Malone. McGwire Sowers had a pair of fifth-place finishes with Suns Out Guns Out and Boots N Bourbon.

Live racing resumes Wednesday at 6:40 p.m.
