It has been reported that a harness driver is recovering from five broken ribs, a broken collarbone, a broken pelvis, broken facial bones and bruised lungs after being involved in a racing accident this past weekend.

According to an article by stuff.co.nz, reinsman Jim Bond has said that he will probably never drive again after the accident he was involved in Down Under on Saturday (Feb. 22).

The crash occurred during Wyndham Harness Racing Club meeting at the Young Quinn Raceway in New Zealand.

"I can't remember a damn thing [about falling]," Bond was quoted as saying.

In terms of his future in the sulky, Bond was quoted as saying, "I think it's history. I'll work a couple at home . . . next year I might get a matinee and trials licence."

Please join Standardbred Canada in wishing Jim Bond a quick and complete recovery from his injuries.
