A three-wide backstretch brush proved to be the winning move for Insincerity in the $9,000 Preferred 2 & 3 Handicap Pace for fillies and mares on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at The Raceway at Western Fair District.

Bob McClure engineered the winning drive aboard Insincerity for owner, trainer and breeder William Hamm of West Lorne, Ont.

Zip Car (Scott Coulter) retook the lead from 9-5 favourite Emerald Rihanna (Nick Steward) by the 29-second first quarter mark and continued to front the field past the half in 1:00.3. Meanwhile, Insincerity followed the cover of 37-1 longshot Katherine B (Garrett Rooney) and then swept to the lead, hitting three-quarters in 1:30.2. She continued to draw away from her rivals into the stretch to solidify her victory in a 2:00.2 mile over the "good" track. Katherine B edged out Zip Car for the runner-up honours, four and a half lengths behind.

Insincerity also won her last race, a Preferred 3 event on Jan. 30 at Flamboro Downs, and was the 5-2 second choice in Wednesday night's feature, paying $7.30 for the repeat win. She is now two-for-four to start the year.

The seven-year-old mare by Rambaran is a 34-time career winner with over $222,000 in purse earnings.
