Some Girls Do is now undefeated in her first three starts of the season thanks to a 1:54 triumph in the first division of the Tender Loving Care Series. Sent off as the 1-9 favourite, the three-year-old daughter of American Ideal-Village Green tracked cover in the final half of the mile before powering up and drawing away to win by 5-1/2 lengths over Gordys Filly Yenta in 1:54. Studio Queen rounded out the top three finishers.

Sagebrush Susie was sent off as the 4-5 choice in her division, and the three-year-old daughter of Red River Hanover-My Best Girl didn’t disappoint her backers. She came first over for driver David Miller and drew away to win by 2-1/4 lengths over Hello Camie in 1:53.3. Mystical Diva was third.

Mark Urycki trains the sophomore for owner Marvin Hill of Panama City, FL. It was the first win of the season and the fourth lifetime triumph in seven tries for the sophomore, who upped her earnings to $16,499.

The first division of the Junior Trendsetter Series went to Dapper Denzil, who skipped the opening leg of the series before roaring home in :25.4 to win his second leg assignment in 1:53.1 for trainer David Miller. The three-year-old son of Red River Hanover-Dancin Desire caught cover before hitting overdrive in the lane and pulling away to win by 1-1/2 lengths over Joe Palz. Third prize went to Im Feelin Good.

Dapper Denzil, who was the beaten favourite in the final of The Count B Stakes at Woodbine Racetrack earlier this month, won for the third time this season for owner Arnie Marks of Smiths Falls, ON. The lion’s share of the purse boosted his bankroll to $55,940.

Mojo Terror rallied from just off the pace to take the second division in a time of 1:52.3 for driver John Campbell and trainer Michael Hall. The three-year-old son of Western Terror-Winning Mojo tripped out behind Steal The Diamonds before rolling past the foe in deep stretch and drawing off to win by 1-3/4 lengths. Hot Shot Lawyer was next best, with Steal The Diamonds settling for third prize.

The victory was the third of the season in four tries for Mojo Terror, who is owned by Bulletproof Enterprises of Boca Raton, FL. The gelding has a career cash stash of $23,850.

Cobalt Man needed every inch of the racetrack to take home top honours in the final division. The three-year-old son of Rocknroll Hanover-Lady Indigo, who was third in last week’s pari-mutuel debut, tracked cover before swinging out and sprinting home in a :28-second clip en route to the 1:52.4 score. Shark Waves was a fast-closing runner-up, and Mcsocks took home third prize.

Chris Ryder conditions the colt and co-owns the lightly-raced sophomore with Creative Racing Stbl Co and Alycon Stable.
